David has been a Licensed Mental Health Counselor since 2004, a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor since 2003 and a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor since 2007. He has worked in Human Services, assisting a variety of clients in improving their lives since 1995. David uses a cognitive, behavioral, existential and at times a psycho dynamic approach to his work. His favorite theories include Reality Therapy by Dr. Bill Glasser and existentialism used both by Dr. Irvin Yalom and Dr. Victor Frankl . David specializes in working with male and female clients age 18 and over in the areas of goal setting, getting motivated, overcoming depression and anxiety, developing a greater sense of spiritually, and effectively dealing with change of life issues such as dating, getting married, career exploration and job loss.
Biography:
David was born and raised in Boston, graduated high school at Boston Latin Academy. He has an undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice from Southern Vermont College and a graduate degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Massachusetts at Boston as well as earning a certificate of advanced graduate studies in Mental Health Counseling. He is also an active member of the Massachusetts Mental Health Counseling Association. David enjoys walking, running, hiking, weight lifting and encourages his clients to exercise regularly as well.
Payment Methods:
David is a panel member of both Harvard Pilgrim and Blue Cross Blue Shield insurances. He accepts either of these insurances as payment. He also accepts PPO insurance which allows clients to go to any provider they wish to. When using a PPO, the client pays first and is then reimbursed by the insurance company. David also accepts cash or check as payment. The advantage to paying by check or cash is the increased privacy that the client has.
